I see it differently but either of us could be right or wrong or maybe some of both. I see dropping government subsidies making the full time smaller commodity farmer (corn, wheat, milo, soybeans) pretty much go by the wayside (smaller specialty farmers with a good nitch could probably still do ok as could smaller farmers with a good job in town to support part of family living expenses and benefits). Hogs and chickens were never subsidized and look who controlls them now - not the little guy. I know for a fact I could survive a lot better at the larger size operation I am now than the smaller size I was a few years ago if all subsidies were removed. I think you are suffering from wishful thinking.
