Subject: Re: Bull longevity

northwest tennessee
I like to try to get 5 or 6 calf crops out of a bull. No I dont think a commercial cattleman can pay 8000.00 for a bull. The most I have ever paid was 3000.00 and he died on me last year and I was not that happy with his calves either. I bought one in Nov. and paid 2350.00 for him and I am pleased with what I am seeing out of him so far. I think some of the high dollar bulls have some traits that make them weak. Last year was a hard year for bulls in this area. Was hard on people too.
