Northeast Iowa | I was talking with a Simmental breeder and a couple other guys a few years ago and we got on the subject of rat tail calves. Everyone seemed to feel there was no middle ground on their performance. They were either one of the best calves in the group, or they were complete duds. None of them ever seemed to be average. The other thing was that no one seemed to feel confident predicting which way the calf's performance would go. You may end up with a great one, or it may be a disappointment. | |
