Subject: insurance on cattle?

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Wouldn't that be covered by insurance?  Do most folks carry insurance on their cattle? I took out a policy on my bull then added the rest of the herd.

It doesn't cover them getting sick from "normal" cattle problems but it does cover them for accidents such as lightning hits or theft. It doesn't really cost very much compared to their value, especially at current repla cement prices.

I thought dairies expecially normally insure their cows. Fire in the barn is something we have heard about here recently. I would think the battery in the feed would qualify as an accident? But I'm not an insurance adjuster.
