He was born in Nov 2008 so he is just 2 years old. He was a bit out of timing sync from Jerry's other bulls which is probably why I was able to get him a a reasonable price. And yes, as good as my T21 bull was in many ways, my experienced neighbor says he likes U70 better. U70 is a real beefy bull but smaller frame. I'm looking for him to help me reduce cow size and boost a few other criteria I just listed below under Jeff's post. U70 being a half brother to T21 still has the calving ease, maternals and good growth from the top side of his pedigree but evidently got smaller frame size and beef/butt from the bottom side. He's got the long, low and wide frame I like and which seems to put out more beef per pound of live weight.
