VitaMix.  Super heavy duty and reliable.  We used to use ours HEAVILY for pureeing meat, vegetables, etc for our tube-fed daughter.  Had 'er hot enough to smell funny and shut down a fair number of times, but with thick loads that you'd need Plowboy's mixer to handle.  Wife dropped a spoon in once while pushing chunks off the sides into the swirling mix and the blades got dinged a bit but fared better than the spoon or my wife's nerves!  A "regular" blender doesn't even come close to a VitaMix when the going gets tough.
