I'll second the Vita-Mix , my wife bought the 5000 series over 6 years ago & has used it ALOT. It is a very impressive machine however was quite pricey like Sheep Herder said. If you do get one get the one with the 7 year warranty. Back then they had cheaper ones with less warranty's, don't have any idea what they have now. Ours started acting up 3-4 moths ago, the motor would kind of pulsate up & down even when set at one speed. Called them up & they said to ship them the base & food container . About 7-10 later they shipped back the base repaired along with a brand new newer style food container at no cast. They even payed to have Fed-Ex pick up the machine to ship to them. I was impressed.
