Subject: Dry August = Buying Out Contracts

Grabill, Indiana
When we did our initial yield projections in early August we anticipated our best fields to yield in the 140 to 160 range, that was before we had a solid month with NO rain. The scale tickets from these fields showed a yield of 78.4.

We anticipated that we were about 50% pre-sold, unfortunately with the poorer yields it looks like we are more in the 125 to 135% range. Fortunately we have crop insurance.

The challenges of our first year of corn production continue.
