Grabill, Indiana | When we did our initial yield projections in early August we anticipated our best fields to yield in the 140 to 160 range, that was before we had a solid month with NO rain. The scale tickets from these fields showed a yield of 78.4.
We anticipated that we were about 50% pre-sold, unfortunately with the poorer yields it looks like we are more in the 125 to 135% range. Fortunately we have crop insurance.
The challenges of our first year of corn production continue.
