Primary reason: Ag produces one of the very few tangible goods that is an absolute necessity regardless of the financial climate. And a corollary: they can't outsource our means of production (land) and leave the head office here.
Other reasons: you fill in the blanks to your hearts delight.
why is ag the only thing excelling???
