Subject: RE: Basement drainage solution

Blooming where I am planted!
The house I'm in has had flooding problems in the basement (up to 4 inches of water) ever since I can remember.  A landscape company said I should spend $700 to regrade the backyard along the south side of the house (about a 6-8' strip), and run the gutters underground out onto the lawn, with drains coming up in the middle of the lawn.  I thougth they were full of it but decided to go for it anyway.  6 years later and not a drop in the basement, even after a very recent huge rain that dropped 8 inches of rain in 2 days.   Best $700 I have spent on this house.
