NE IOWA/ SE SD | Ohio corn came in at 165.6 vs. 159.73 last year and 150.93 3yr average. USDA is showing a 2 bu. Increase from last year.
Ohio bean pod counts came in at 1200.98 vs. 1268.35 ly and 1199.5 3 year average. USDA is showing a 6% decrease in bean yield from last year for ohio.
All in all corn is a lot further along (300-400 heat units ahead of 30 year average). Corn showed a lot of N deficiencies and the higher number than last year really surprised me.
Tomorrow will be interesting to see if we see the same thing in the western half of IN that we saw in eastern IN. Very variable out there. Yields ranged from 114-210 in eastern IN. A lot of tipback (2-3 inches).
I will keep you posted on what I see. | |
