North Central Illinois | I can't give you a definitive answer but it isn't helping that is for sure. We just can't compare this year with last year because of the difference in planting dates. Last year at this time we were pollinating. This year everything is dented and trying to finish off. Our kernal depth is pretty good in most ofour corn but I think we are going to lose yield on test weight. I don't really forsee a test weight situation like we had last year but I think below average test weight is a good possibility. Obviously having plenty of moisture should help minimize the damage but I think even well watered areas experiencing the hot days and nights will lose some yield. On my own corn I'm just not sure what that translates to in bpa. I'm thinking a reduction of at least 10 bushels. Just a WAG. | |
