I drove by the Five Rivers feedlots (must be a mile of them) in Greeley, CO a couple weeks ago on a very hot day. There were some sprinkler guns shooting some water over some pens but what those cattle needed was shade in my opinion. I can't see where straw is going to help. Seems like a lot of concrete there maybe straw will not hold heat like concrete or keep them away from hot concrete? I really hate to see that many cattle that close together in that sort of heat with no shade. jmho. Jim at Dawn
