| I attended a 3 day marketing seminar fall of 08 that was focused on end user hedging. I thought it was a graet opportunity to see how they think. I was shocked how heads of purchasing for some national food companies new so little of hedging. The excuses where anywhere from cash flow to stockholder rejection. These guys where highly educated and could not grasp some simple option strategies that I as a producer/ manager use everyday. Things are not always what they seem.
Need to watch for end user panic buying. Usually indicates a top. The bad crop news will slow someday and a correction will take place. Will it be a bull market correction or end of a weather scare?
My margin in corn has shot up over $125 per acre after land. Cant' ignore that. | |
