| I was in City of Industry, CA about five years ago picking up a load of salad dressings, mayo, etc. Beside the loading docks was a tank labeled soybean oil, made me think the price of soybean oil at a midwest soy processor is somewhat irrelvant compared to the freight cost, lots of union labor and surcharges from there to L.A., breaking a single car out to get to that plant or trucking it in from a distribution point. The farmer's share in that product is pretty small. End users have been complacent, Will a round of ankle grabbing change that? | |
