Subject: supplementing pasture

near dyersville iowa
when(or if) my pastures get short later in the year, whats a good way to supplement the cows/calves on pasture? I have a creep feeder for the calves, will be going out this month. The main problem is, im turning my herd over this year, and have a few heifers out on the pasture, so im overstocked. Was wondering what you guys would do in this situation? I could wean early, sell cows. Or I could feed cows corn or ddgs or hay. I have never fed ddgs before though. Hopefully it doesnt get that dry that i cant just get away with a couple bales of hay, just trying to think a bit in advance. Btw, the forecast is for possible heavy rain tonight, wish i could split that with you guys that really need it.
