Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!! | Certainly depends on the area. I've heard from 5-7 hence I chose 6! I shouldn't be even talking sheep here, as what I have to say is mostly theory. I think rather than answering hypothetical questions, I'll let the sheep guys step in. I look forward to their comments.
I do know "here", lamb feedlots have potential, particularly if you grow your own feed. Alas, potential is the key word, as I do not know enough about the feedlot side of things at all really, other than from some textbook type of info. I'd rather trust the sheep men, than trust a text book.
Went to some sheep production workshops run by sheep people, and they were awesome, very upbeat, and spoke of sheep as the only livestock industry, (other than feather/dairy), that is thriving. Havn't heard a single cattleman say their industry is thriving for MANY years. Man I hope the sheep guys hop back in. Maybe they are too busy counting their cash!!! |
