what you've done is what I am considering. I use SUMMIT/STRATUS for mapping and recordkeeping and ZYNX 15 as a rate controller,vrt and quidance. It would be cool while in the field to get a shpfile from imagery in SUMMIT loaded on to a thumbdrive and immediatley plug it into the ZYNX to do presmaps at the drop of a hat. As you I would insist on XP.
Can I ask what you paid, what would you do differnt etc.......???
