That's an excellent point about the liquid from canned air. We don't have a compressor and use what's at hand. My wife keeps canned air around to blow dust off slides.
I've sort of gone with the idea that blowing it with canned air is better than not cleaning off the dust at all, but I've noticed the liquid or condensation or whatever it is. It probably wouldn't hurt to look into getting a small compressor, anyway.
