Subject: freezer beef

Rather than focusing on a breed, first you need water, fences and a hndling facility. I would seed pastures with a mixture suited for your area. I would include a clover rather than alfalfa in the mix. As far as breed I would look at locally sourced beef breed cattle but focus on disposition rather than what color the hide is. For lowline you will pay a big premium. I would just source good local docile healthy standard stock. Good luck. Jim at Dawn
