Not a big deal.
When an old Hereford cross cow with an attitude is snorting and blowing snot down your neck, you can't be too particular.
That pretty much sums it up, although we always try to get it deeper rather than shallow, anything from ear freezing to tag ripping out can be a problem if it is too shallow.
