hogman, I have a multi meter, that I set the voltage with, but need to get one that'll read hertz, I'm sure I'm safer and closer to 60 hertz at 120-125 volts, than running at 145 volts, I could tell that was to fast. The other gen we got are pretty close when the needle is in the green, just fine tune it with the multimeter. I set the voltage at 123-125 to all for a slight drop when a motor kicks in, beings the gens don't have quite the surge power like connected to the main line, make sense to you?
Thanks for the info

Got an old electric / mechanical clock with a second hand ?? Plug it in when your on generator power and compare the seconds with a watch for 30 seconds. When the electric clock second hand runs at the correct speed, frequency is correct. speed or slow the generator until that clock runs at the right speed.
