Subject: Re: Killer the cat

southern MN
We've never had house pets, just barn cats. Last year & this, something has killed all our kittens. Our mousing herd of adults is down to 10 (11 - one came back from straying 2 years ago?) and getting fewer females. So, our good momma cat had these 2 fall kittens, born in August, and Minnesota winter is not kind to 2 dumb small kittens.... We locked them in the grainery with mom most of the fall to keep whatever is killing them at bay; with the time invested, we had to do something for these bitter cold days, so the 2 have been in the house. We intend them to be barn cats in the future again.

They love the mouse pointer, they have spent a 1/2 hour a day sitting there, nose against the screen, following that pointer. For the record, they prefer my PC over my wife's Mac.

Wife & I probably both are a bit more dog people, but nothing wrong with a good friendly cat, we like them too. Dog hasn't fit our situation at this time, think a dog takes some time, while cats can enteratin themselves.
