Subject: Re: New two-stage furnace questions

I just put that in a house I'm working on moving to. Its very comfortable. And it cuts the fuel consumption considerably over the old furnace that claimed 80% but was probably more like 50%. Especailly with the A coil plugged with grunge.

Two stages improve the comfort, forced draft improves the safety and the efficiency.

Run the stack up the old chimney, not out a side wall so it doesn't get covered in a snow drift.

The fed rebate is 30%, limited to $1500. And that 1500 limit is the total of all energy rabates. I also got 200 from the electric company for a high performance AC.,
