| If I recall correctly, I do believe that was the place (or was a place just like that) we used to go to on saturday afternoons sometimes. Would also go to the double drive-in flea market, and then hit Montana Charlies at Joliet on the way home. Was quite the interesting time, but just wish I was older when we went so I would have enjoyed it more. I searching the net, and see the Turf motel is still listed. Dad stopped staying there later on as he thought it was getting too dangerous to stay there. I remember him stopping at a hotel one time in Chicago, and the manager looked out at the car and said "you have family with you. Do not stay at this hotel. Its not safe!" Have to appreciate such honesty on his part. | |
