Geez alnciowa, I sure am glad your "grandpas were aggressive land buyers" so you can drive around and wonder why some people are working so hard. I own a few of those conefinement sites and while I don't do the labor in them they have, and still do, work quite well for me. They also provide some young guys who want to farm with a steady income.
Is it worth all the work??
