Subject: JD 1760 population issues

In both corn and soybeans, I have to set the transmission one setting higher to get the population I want. In soybeans I have to set it one or two settings higher. I’ve done the basic stuff, checked wear on the plates, seals in the meters, chain tension, etc. I read in the book that some slippage is expected in tilled fields. My tire pressure is at 28 psi on the transmission tire and 44 psi on the planter tire, so I’m thinking it’s just slipping going through the worked ground.

My question is, could I stop this issue by putting fluid in the planter tire? Has anyone else had issues like this or put fluid in a planter tire?
