s nd | Was heading to billings montana with my sis and bil fifteen or twenty years ago and got to the west side of n dakota and ran the gas tank nearly dry. Sign said gas south of 94 a bit, so we decided we better try it. We got there and the station was closed if I remember right. A guy saw us and came over and opened for us and we got gassed up as he told us about this station that was on the honor system. He said he was on oprah and I asked if he got anything for that. He said a coffee cup, maybe more. Link is to a recent article on the town. Not sure we would have gotten gas if the guy hadn't of shown up. Someone here will remember more of the place twenty years ago. Maybe they all had a key back then. Not even sure there was credit card pumps. I kept thinking it was beach nd, but evidently wrong. Maybe I looked at map when I got home and only saw beach on it. Sentinel Butte, ND.
