Subject: RE: Berkshire Pork

SW Minnesota
I was just using the buildings I had when I was farrowing. It seemed like the leaner the genetics got the the harder it was for the sows to stay in condition. The whole push to leaner pigs wasn't natural for pigs and hurt the end product. In college I had a professor that grew up in Texas. He said he much proffered the pork that was fat and juicy an the Texas beef was dry and stringy.
