Subject: RE: I would call it a flow monitor not a flow meter

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
It appears I was incorrect so thanks for the reply. I was thinking that the device used balls like my Wilger Flow columns and some type of electronic sensor that in effect reported the height of the balls.

It sounds as if it attempts so measure the actual flow with jets rather than a turbine wheel as I'm familiar with. If the jets are accurate it would seem reasonably easy to use o modern microcontroller and have it convert the flow rate of each row into an applied rate by using a speed sensor. This could the give the operator an idea of the applied rate besides the ability to detect when a row is plugged. The density and other factors of using the "jets" might make that difficult. I assume different jets are needed for different products.
