Subject: RE: Blood thinners

NW Washington
Because of a mechanical heart valve that was installed 17+ years ago, I have been taking warfarin (Coumadin), also known as rat poison, ever since.
I have learned to live with it and get tested every 4 to 6 weeks. You have to watch your diet and not eat too much kale or stuff with a lot of Vitamin K in it and not drink very much alcohol, which thins things out too much.
Because of the heart valve, I can not take the high-priced blood thinner stuff they advertise on TV every night. So even if it is a nuisance, it can be done, and it is better than most alternatives.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
