Milford, IL | I think this may be a scenario where the EV can get close to competing on a cost per mile basis. Assuming a residual value near zero (ICE and EV) when the vehicles are miled out at 3 or 4 years of age.
$10 a day x 365 days x 4 years = $14,600 juice.
$100 a day gasoline (200 miles / 7mpg x $3.50) x 365 days x 4 years = $146,000 gasoline.
I guess those figures hinge on wether or not the EV can run on the entire route without charging at lunch, EV500 and EV700 has 161 and 153 miles of range published? And about 2500# payload capacity? $10 is cheap running if that is accurate. | |
