It looks like they use a 135 Kwh battery pack. LFP chemistry, so rest easy about the kids mining Cobalt. 135 Kwh would use about  $10 worth of juice if charged off-peak @ 8 cents / Kwh. Compare that to 10 gallons of gas and you might start to see why they are used. Then factor in, no oil changes, less service, due to less stuff like starter, alternator, fan belts, air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, less brake wear.
