coast of Maine | My BIL's MIL(85) got scammed by a call from an "attorney" he was calling for a friend of hers in jail,OUI,needed bail,$12,500. worth ,cash.Told her at bank tell them a roof job so she can get it out easier,the lawyers employee ///shows up wearing covid mask,takes the cash... Later she calls her fried to nag her(yes she is a rag) about being a drunk,,,gig was up then.My SIL worked in finance ,called the appropriate channels,they caught the guy the next day,76,000$ in cash,,and a phone number in his phone to my relative.Crazy ,she got it all $$$ back last month.Took 6 months.Caught because another guy was going to the bank in neighboring town and they had heard of this prior scam,,,scammers were Canadians,,,WTF | |
