Boone Co. Iowa
Imagine the scenario in which it pays. Imagine a scenario in which it doesn't pay....

You will probably pay taxes or have to buy machinery or something.....

I am likely to get my ECO policy to pay out this June.

I decided not to get it (ECO) this year, but did up my hail coverage.

Honestly just depends on how well you want to sleep at night. Feels to me like the final crop could have a lot of value.

Is "cheap insurance" really that cheap?

If you follow insurance at all, rates outside crop insurance are skyrocketing. Mostly due to weather.

$3 corn and $10 beans I will cheapen insurance and be in "survive to farm next year mode."

$4.70 and $11.50, I think having a better level of insurance makes sense.
