NW Iowa
New Co-op is huge by Iowa standards but I imagine the bill they will pay will be huge. This is bad PR for farming as a whole. Fertilizer contamination of groundwater is already in the bullseye. A spill this big makes national news that is accessible to millions who are far removed from farming. We farmers are already considered plenty evil, this will not help or reputation one bit.

From what I have read the valve that leaked is outside the containment. Now in my way of thinking the most likely way for a spill to happen is a valve left open or broken off. Because of this I would think all fill or unload valves should be within the confinement.
