southern MN | It is a thorny issue isn’t it?
Tictoc and the China made drones, and really most any app that we put on our phones and tablets.
Tons of opportunity for spying.
Domestically we call it data collection for advertising…….
But really it’s all the same.
Pretty much every letter we tap out is run through a spell checker, so whatever we type has an opportunity to be recorded……
Some of this is quite serious, where do we draw the lines?
Need the 10 gallon tin hat size to cover this one, it’s tough. It should have been controlled much earlier in the process when reasonable controls and checks would have allowed business to be business, and privacy to be private. Now a few decades in, it will be about impossible to unwind it all. We went down the east path, don’t care just want the free info……
Certainly this is much bigger than one social media app.
Where does the govt stop then, if they start the bans based on one app, not on a regulation of how data is handled? Pick winners and losers, any administration will pick their favorites? That’s unsettling too.
