Subject: RE: Banning TikTok

Malta, Illinois
I have never watched a single Tik Tok video and most likely never will. The reasons for this are threefold. I find 99.9% of internet videos to be 1) a colossal waste of time, 2) feel like they are mining information from viewers, and 3) are peddling ideas or theories that are 100% bs. With all of that said, banning things leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it In affect takes away a freedom. In this case when it is a product of a foreign communist government, how do we allow it to continue? I have serious reservations about our ability to stop it even if we wanted to. Tik Tok and dozens of other sites that peddle millions of videos are playing into the weakness of Americans that was really brought to light during Covid. A startling number of people would rather sit on their butts for hours a day watching useless and misleading videos than accept reality for what it is than go out and do something productive.
