I'd at least talk to the sheep superintendent at the fair. Maybe you'll be surprised. Some other family might haveĀ hair sheep at home, or an interest in them. Let you daughter tale hers and have her own class, might stir up interest.
I've thought about something like that. Personally, I've never "fit in" with the show crowd and for the most part always felt the showmanship class is a little more important as I think it shows off the kid's time spent a little better. With that being said, it's her first year and she's ate up with animals and has been itching to show for years now and is already planning to show three, maybe four animals, so maybe a lamb will have to wait until next year.
Back to the OP, I posted earlier about how well things had been going with my new flock, relatively speaking. Yesterday, one of the yearlings lambed a tiny little single and she seems to not be accepting it. So it ain't all roses :). Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
