12 hours sitting in a tractor is a lot different than working 12 hours doing shift work
It’s all different all year long. When I worked at the mill I basically had 4 jobs there in 13 or so years. The last job I had I never should have taken. It really made me more lazy. At work and home. I ran a furnace and operated out of an operators booth 80% of the time. I had a comfy chair and a radio and my phone to keep me company. Sitting on my A for 48-72 hours a week staring at a computer screen made me not want to do anything at home. I thought I’d be a ball of fire wanting to get out and about but it had the opposite effect.
I was more motivated when I had a floater/fill in type position. But that led to doing jobs you didn’t want to do for weeks on end when someone was on FMLA or a vacancy sometimes. If you were good at something they wouldn’t want to let you leave or move on or they’d drag their feet hiring someone new. |
