Malta, Illinois | The good part is it is a pretty low risk procedure that can improve quality of life. Unfortunately from my experience with family members and personally knowing a cardiologist, the results in someone your dad’s age are kind of 50/50. If the heart is healthy otherwise it has a good chance of being successful and improving quality of life. If there are any valve issues or weakening of the heart muscle there is a good chance that it won’t help much. If the doctor is recommending it I would absolutely do it. I would ask a lot of questions of your father’s cardiologist first though. | |
