Subject: RE: Livestock auction rant?

We used to sell a lot of 10 weight Holsteins by the pot. About every 4-6 weeks we would go sort off the biggest uniform 45-50 head on the lots. Always seemed they wanted to hold a few. Yes some probably needed it but others were looking for the steal. We’d take our trailer along to watch them sell and bring every one of them home out of principle and their semi wouldn’t be as full. Saw some angry buyers that were disappointed they didn’t get the chance to add them back into the group over the years. Helped limit pulling 6 lighter ones off or the red and white from the black and whites. Usually we’d sell them in the next group if they did and about 1/2-2/3 would pass the second go around. Really appreciated the manager when he’d deny some of their requests to pull cattle from the group.
