Anytime they sorted off one of mine I’d no sale and haul it home. Fed them all out and the blue eye short ear/tail off color limping cause it slipped 30 pound light ones did just fine. Figured if my culls feed fine my best ones would feed good too so I feed everything out now.

I despise how the smaller sale barns let the big buyer run everything. If the barn owner can’t stand up to them even a little then they don’t need my business.

Sold a steer castrated real late.
He was 830# on sale day.
Sale report said 304 to 315 for 8 weights.
I asked why I got 200 - - - - he looked staggy.

Really don't think they want my business.
He was already cut - - - I had already eaten the long heal time 'cause it was so late - - - I'd bet he'll be on the hook in 150 to 160 days for summer steak time.
Think I was totally ripped off!

Gonna work on changing things for the future.

A real late castrated steer tells the buyers he had no other vaccines either. Staggy steers don’t sell well. I think you got what the market said it was worth. Process your calves earlier and you will make bank.
