Subject: non gmo corn behind soybeans with volunteer corn

Ogallala,NE
I had a circle of soybeans in 23 that had a lot of volunteer corn. I finally got the last of the volunteer killed when I sprayed select on 8/15. The beans were harvested on 10/7.

With rootworm pressure in mind, would it be too risky to plant non gmo corn or popcorn in 24? Did I feed the rootworm too long with the volunteer corn?

This was new farm to me in 23, but I believe 22 was non gmo corn with lots of rootworm pressure, hence the volunteer problem.
