Sounds like you don’t plan on side dressing every year, just add some more N if weather conditions are favorable?
I Side dress every year, but amount applied has varied greatly over the years. First year side dressing each acre got 50lbs more then planned due to favorable weather. last year I probably pulled back N by about 25% with the dry conditions.
