I agree on a double 4 ft spear with spears down low serves double use. Much better on picking up bales than forks but also will do most jobs pallet forks will do.  I have both but leave the spears on most of the time.  When loading a bale wrapper in the summer it really helps to spear a bale around 2/3 of the way up. I don't see how you could load a wrapper with pallet forks without damaging the wrapper pusher.
