Subject: RE: Pallet forks

I used to borrow a skid steer from a neighbor to unload hay from trailers in the stack yard when I only had one loader. Used pallet forks and got along ok. Seems you had to stab them pretty low if I remember right.

A seperate head with four in-line spears is a very versatile tool as I also move big squares on occasion. Local guy used to manufacture one and he told me that someone had used one to tear out a pretty good streatch of cement lined irrigation ditch. Works pretty well to clean up blown down trees or clean out blown shut fence lines. Clean weeds from in front of blocked culverts. I have a bale unroller that stabs round bales from both ends. Instead of fighting the cows to peel off net wrap I just slice it with a box cutters and unroll the bale. Go back with the forks and get underneath the windrow where it was started. MOST of the time the net wrap will come out all in one piece. Also can use it to pick up a few slices of big squares for feeding singles or a couple of head.
