When is the CRP contract going to start? CRP cant be seeded till the contract has started. Your NRCS will have recommended dates for seeding, if seeded out side those dates, you will have to wait to get cost share until grass is established. Seeding in June or July would be a disaster. Dormant seed late oct/nov when no chance of grass germinating, or wait till following spring late April first of may to seed. Will need to plant the mixture and PLS pounds NRCS recommends. Soybeans ahead of grass works very well as you can no till right into stubble. FSA fiscal year starts OCT 1st. This year is going to be different for CRP and approval as FSA is bumping up against the acreage cap. There is batching periods this year.
