We had a good mom cow with twins, got mastitis, she was down for several days and lost a quarter. Wife supplemented 1 calf for a couple weeks, once we saw her stealing from other cows we stopped.
Big fat cows put out a lot of milk. Calves are eating hay within 2 weeks, Calves thrive even if problems with mom.
Am I wasting time and money trying to make cow milk more?
