perryton, tx | I have a ~6 year old cow out of a bunch I bought that I posted about earlier-she’s only making milk in one quarter of her udder. Her calf is a week old and looks decent but kind of thin. I’ve been feeding her as much hay and cake as possible hoping to maximize the milk she can make with just one quarter but I’m wondering if this strategy really helps much? She’s been pretty cranky and agitated since I penned her away from the herd so I feel like I might as well turn them out and wash my hands of the mess if I’m not helping the situation any. The cows are on Milo stalks with plenty to eat if that matters. Any input appreciated | |
